We happy with the selection, folks?

Only time will tell. If the Giants were heading in the right direction, there likely wouldn't be an opening. It's going to depend upon expectations of ownership and the fanbase. I'm glad they went in the direction of offense. Now, is it better if Daboll designs the offense and calls the plays or hires an OC that shares his vision and philosophy and is given play calling responsibility? I'm curious to see how that works out. I, for one, don't expect Jones to be the Second Coming off Josh Allen. I just want to see a more innovative and modern offense. I'm anticipating another top 10 draft pick in 2023. And for me, that's all right provided there's evidence of progres.

Very happy that the Giants hired Brian Daboll. The Giants hired the right GM and now the right Head Coach. So proud of John Mara and Steve Tisch that they choose to move the Giants forward in a manner that will bring the Giants into the modern NFL. Change is hard, but they did their best to give Giants fans hope that better days are ahead.

Daboll is a very bright offensive mind. He has a shared vision with Schoen on how to build the Giants into a winning team again. The NFL has become a passing league. Having a head coach like Brian Daboll who has innovative ways especially with a young QB & a young Team makes a lot of sense.

Now if Schoen can get the Bills agree to let the Giants hire Ken Dorsey as offensive coordinator would awesome!

Can't rule out if Daboll might want to call his own plays.

He just might. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
Ken Dorsey is a young well respected QB coach who worked with Josh Allen.
Ken Dorsey was a QB at the U in Miami. He holds the school record for most wins with a record of 38- 2.

Schoen indicated:
“I’ve looked at Daniel and you know, once the new staff gets in here — offensive coordinator, head coach, entire staff — dive into the film as a group and look at what Daniel does best. We’re going to allow him to put his best foot forward,” Schoen said.

“I’ve looked at him and you know, I wasn’t here in the past, I don’t know what he was told what to do, but I do know this: he’s a great kid, he’s been in the building the last two days I’ve talked to him. There’s not a person who’s said a bad word about his work ethic, passion (or) desire to win. You got to have those traits as a quarterback. The kid has physical abilities. Arm strength, he’s athletic, he can run. So I’m really excited to work with Daniel. When the new staff gets in here, we’ll build an offense around Daniel to accentuate what he does best.”

Schoen has repeatedly doubled-down on that stance and as fate would have it, that vision is apparently shared in lockstep by newly hired head coach Brian Daboll".

Seems like the right approach to me! Design an offense based on what Jones does best.

Agree.
I sure would not like to see DJ discarded and blossom elsewhere.

Glad the Giants went with an offensive minded coach. While I still believe that defense wins championships (I know, old school, but I've been watching the Giants since 1958), in todays game you need an adequate offense at the least.
But as important as an offensive mind is, I think what will make Daboll successful is his ability to relate to players as people. From what I've read coming out of Buffalo, his players truly like him and are not intimidated by him. Apparently, that was something lacking in Judge. Team chemistry is something that I've always felt was undervalued, and that extends to players chemistry with the coaching staff.
One last thing, I believe Daniel Jones can be an excellent QB in the NFL. He has the physical attributes, the mental acuity, and the desire to work hard and win. However, can anyone name me any current NFL QB who could have succeeded with the current Giants Oline and lack of imaginative play calling? Mahomes didn't look so hot in last year's Super Bowl when he spent most of the game running for his life. Brady facing unrelenting pressure from the Giants Dline in 2 Super Bowl losses didn't resemble the G.O.A.T. Just saying, any QB who lacks the time to make his reads is going to struggle. The fumbling problem with Jones would be alleviated if he wasn't get hit as he was preparing to throw the ball. Just want to see what he can do given reasonable protection, decent play calling, and a semblance of a running game.
Here's hoping Giants start to build from the inside out!

I don't know what to say other than it's one of best post I read. As far as Daboll I agree. He real and he's done it. He's earned his chance to be a head coach. I have read he's humble and relates to his players so well. Respect is a two way street. Your comments about playing behind the Giants offensive line is so true. I am looking at this way. Mara and Tisch hired the right GM and HC and better days are ahead!
