Very Early 7-Round Giants Mock Draft

I'm a believer in building up the trenches first. Especially the offensive line.

Kyle Hamilton is a stud (I'm a diehard Notre Dame fan), but I would take another OL with that pick. I think it is to early to tell what positions on the OL need to be filled, but there are plenty holes to fill. It seems like Andrew Thomas is the only clear starter that will return.

I'd be thrilled with Ekwonu and then select another top lineman (Petit Frere, Linderbaum, Neal, Walker, Patterson).

If the Giants want to address defense with one of the two picks, I'd look at the D-Line: Karlaftis (Purdue), Leal (A&M)

For the most part, I'm in agreement with the positions that Dietz chose to fill.

At RB, I think you can find value on the wire. No need to use a draft pick on a RB that is going to sit behind Barkley in 2022 (maybe longer).

At the conclusion of the second round, I want the Giants to have ended up with two OL out of the 3 picks. The other pick is either DL or LB.

Nakobe Dean is an excellent MLB out of Georgia. He might be available with the 2nd round pick. Perhaps even the third once all the prospects are rated.

When in doubt, take the boys from the big-time SEC schools: Bama, UGA, A&M.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, any draft that excludes Tyler Lunderbaum (assuming he is still on the board) is a huge mistake on the Giants part. Hamilton is a great prospect, but can he keep Jones upright? Can he open running lanes for Saquon? The Oline is the Giants biggest weakness, fix it while you have the opportunity.

I totally agree. Unless Hamilton is the next Ed Reed, no way do I take him at No. 7.

I agree also. I would go heavy on interior offensive lineman with the early picks.
As best I can tell there really isn't a WOW offensive tackle in this draft.
This draft class doesn't seem to have those blue chip players like recent drafts.

I'd be wary about Ekwonu. He seems more like a guard than a tackle. He also gave up 25 pressures and 7 sacks this year. They could probably move down a few spots and still get Tyler Lunderbaum only because some teams will overdraft QBs. IMHO getting Tyler Lunderbaum is a most. Getting Zion Johnson in 2nd rd would be awesome!

I really like Zion Johnson Guard (G) from BC and G Lecitus Smith from Va Tech. Cade Mays G maybe an interesting pick in the middle rounds. The Giants have come away with a Y TE in this draft.
You have Jalen Wydermyer, Jake Ferguson and Ruckert a TEs. I would take RB Hassen Haskens Michigan since I don't know what's going on with Barkley for next.
I 'm no draft expert but Just my two cents.

Jordan Davis out of Georgia is a monster. No idea about his work ethic and character though.

Couldn’t agree more Chuck!

When one of the strengths of the draft is interior offensive lineman, then the Giants should draft them early and often! You have to get Tyler Lunderbaum. That's a must IMHO. Then they could draft Zion Johnson Guard (G) BC, G Lecitus Smith from Va Tech and a sleeper Cade Mays G Tenn if their still available just to name a few.

The Giants offensive lines have needed help since about 2012. They have the assets now. Go get JMHO

I'm already excited for next season! The off-season, roster engineering, and draft prep has become my favorite part of being a Giants fan...

Dean will most likely be gone by 36. Most experts have him going in the first round and unfortunately a favorite of the Eagles with their 3 picks in round one. If he was still there at 36, run to hand in his card/name.

Dean will be gone by 36 as most experts have him the first round. He’s that good.

He selected Cade Otten as his TE. He is also highly rated and moving up draft boards.
Not a fan of Haskens. Would take either of the Georgia RBs White or Cook.
