I believe the Giants need to build up the trenches with their two first round picks.

Here are my top 10 (plus) prospects that play on the line (offense and defense)

OT - Evan Neal (ALA)
OT - Ikem Ekwonu (NC St)
0T - Nicholas Petit-Frere (OSU)
DE - Aidan Hutchinson (MICH)
DE - Kayvon Thibodeaux (ORE)
DT - DeMarvin Leal (A&M)
DT - Jordan Davis (UGA)
ILB - Nakobe Dean (UGA)
OLB - Adam Anderson (ALA)
ILB - Christian Harris (ALA)
DE - George Karlaftis (PUR)
DE - David Ojabo (MICH)

Agree 100% that the Giants need to upgrade both lines in the draft. Your list is impressive, but I believe you left out the one player the Giants need the most. Tyler Lunderbaum, center from Iowa, is possibly the best Olineman in the nation. If the Giants draft him, it's almost as if they have 3 first round picks! What I mean is that by picking Lunderbaum, they fix 2 problems with the Oline with one draft choice. Lunderbaum starts at center and Gates slides over to his natural position, right guard. This assumes Gates returns from his injury, but with his hard nosed disposition, I'd be shocked if he didn't return (remember Seubert?). Next pick they should draft the next best Olineman left, and that should be 80% of a much improved revamped line.

Yes, Gates returning would be a huge addition to the OL.

I fear that I jury though is a career changer. I'm not counting on much from him.

We all thought that about Seubert, who had a horrible injury and he returned to give them some quality years, including a Super Bowl winning performance. Medicine has come a long way since.

Fingers crossed!!

Has there been a public update on his status?
Nick spoke to the media at the end of the season. Sounded iffy for start of 2022, but he doesn't need more surgeries. In having seen him, he's already walking on his own, albeit without a limp. If anyone can make it back, he can.
