Doesn't make sense to me. Why would Wilson want to come to the Giants with all the chaos going on? If the Giants want to build for the future, they have to build through the draft with a capable
GM and H/C. As the Giants are constructed now and with so many needs it doesn't make sense to make that trade and give up a ton of draft capital. It reminds me of when the Giants traded the 2nd pick in the 1st round of the 1975 draft to Dallas for Craig Morton. That didn't work well either. With that pick Dallas drafted DT Randy White. who was a 7-time 1st team All-Pro, 9 Time Pro Bowl Player, and elected to Hall of Fame.

Apparently there are rumors his wife would love to go to a bigger market to help her career.

What would the Giants have to give up? Would Wilson be playing with the same OL? I don't think any QB would have consistent success behind the OL.

Fixes the trenches first.

The reported asking price is three first round picks. They don't have the cap space or a quality offensive line. For Pete's sake, this wanting of Wilson is like a teenager wanting a sports card despite having a jalopy budget.

I wanted a Ferrari. Seriously Wilson is 33 yrs old. In 2019 he signed a 4 year $140 million contract. According to Spotrac his 2022 cap hit would be $37 million and 40 million in 2023. I don't think so.

There was a time not long ago were even QB drafted in the 1st round sat for a year or two.
Learned about the aspects of the pro game from watching, learning and then went on to start.
Like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodges for example.

It seems like with the 5 year option, a QB has 3 years to play learn the game and develop into a star or he's gone. It took Phil Simms and Eli a few years before they were ready to roll. They were almost got run out of town early on in their careers.
What do you think about the 5th year option?

The 5th year is what the Union & League agreed on. It seems to have been working well. The Gints situation is unique in that after their QBs first two years they still don't what they have. IMO next season should a FINAL test for DJ. (i.e., IF he actually plays next season.)

They need to fix the OL before making a move like that. Getting rid of the architect of this disaster - Gettleman - is step one. Drafting at least two starters for next year should be two. Besides, Wilson is at the tail-end of his career.

Russell Wilson reportedly would welcome a trade to one of four NFL teams, the Giants being one of them. Should the Giants make the trade?

If New York is heading towards a rebuild he won't come. I think the real issue was Gettleman didn't get a high profile coach known for offense / possibly defense. He did attempt to save the team. The rebuild might take 10 years. You have to change the culture also. The best move they can make is selecting a QB with their highest draft choice. I like Jones, but after 3 years his footwork still sucks and if NY doesn't they'll be sorry. If next year they get close to .500 they'll be praised. In reality it will be as high as this team will ever get. Having studied the Jets a team tends to lose players to free agency age and bad decisions. It won't be easy. Get a QB and a veteran backup or keep Jones as a backup and get a QB.

3 years ago I would have. But now, noway. Let's build a dominant offensive line first then worry about QB if we have to.

Absolutely. This is a quarterback driven league. Without an quality quarterback your going know where fast. The Colts went 10-6 in 2010.With the same roster minus Manning they pick 1 overall in the next years draft. The Broncos are another example. That was a stacked roster before Peyton Manning got there. Not much winning until Peyton arrived. Buccaneers without Brady similar results. They had a stacked roster but couldn’t win consistently. Get the right QB in place Super Bowl. How do you think the Rams, Packers, Chiefs etc would be without there QBs. Same roster?!?! I bet you anything they wouldn’t be in contention
You get Wilson in here with this roster the Giants will be in the hunt next year!!
