Shepard's contract question....

Hello everyone, quick question. I read somewhere Shep re worked his contract, freeing up some money for the Giants. Does this mean they might have added a year to contract years? I hope he stays with the team for years to come but was just thinking of that. He was having a great season for us so far, injury not counting. Plus I have to buy my cousin a jersey for his birthday coming up, thought about Shepard for him, but hate to buy it and he's gone.

Shep agreed to a restructure. To my knowledge he didn't extend his contract. I'm not 100% confident he's with this team next year, but I hope I'm wrong.

Patricia, my understanding is the same as yours. The Giants on 9/8/21 converted approximately $6 million of his base salary to into a signing bonus creating about $4 million in cap space per Spotrac. His cap hit next year is going to be about $12.5 million and $13.5 million in 2023 so I have no idea what's going to happen either.
