You seem to be right. According to Raiderswire USA the Raiders are hiring Rob Ryan to be a senior defensive assistant, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

He was never signed to the Giants coaching roster. Aaron Wilson reported that he could be considered for the staff, but in all honest, I would have been surprised if he Giants hired him.
